java-package software package provides Utility for creating Java Debian packages, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install java-package

java-package is installed in your system.

Make ensure the java-package package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep java-package *

You will get with java-package package name, version, architecture and description in a table
